Thank You!
Dear wonderful Edgebrook family,
The beautiful bouquet of flowers you sent arrived on my first full day at Swedish Covenant Hospital and lasted the two weeks I was there. It was appreciated by visitors (and me!) and many staff members. Thank you also for your prayers, cards and the faithful visits of Pastor Mesimore and Bunny Hughes. The phone calls and visits were much appreciated, too. Ralph and I are blessed to be part of the Edgebrook family and I thank God for you.
With love,
Peggy Kingsley
PS: The Easter lily was gorgeous and will be planted outdoors when spring really comes. Many thanks!

Dear Greg,
The Foundation for Family Development would like to thank you and your congregation for your generous contribution to “Foundation for the Future”, the capital campaign to purchase our building outright. Your unexpected and ongoing support has been a blessing and encouragement to all of us.

As you know, the Foundation for Family Development has been serving the city of Monterrey, Mexico since 1999 with a variety of Christ-centered programs and resources designed to foster healthy family relationships. The goal of outright ownership of the building and property is compelled by a vision of sustaining this ministry so it can continue giving hope to families in need, transforming communities and growing the Kingdom.

With the generous support of yourselves and others, we reached an important milestone this past January when we completed he purchase of the fourth of six units on the first floor of the building. This means your donation is already contributing to the Kingdom work of the Foundation!

Thank you again, and we look forward to your continued support.
Sincerely,
Nils Clauson
Team Coordinator
The Foundation for Family Development
Monterrey, Mexico
PS: It was great to have some time with you all last summer. The s’mores were great!

Swing Batta, Batta, Batta
A favorite Chicago past time is softball – played with a16” softball and no gloves (if you’re a guy).  And a favorite Edgebrook Covenant past time is cheering on our co-ed softball team, “The Edge”!

Now in its 4th season under Coach Ryan Janken, The Edge is a group of Edgebrook Covenant guys and gals (16 years and older) who enjoy being together and playing this uniquely Chicago brand of softball.  We’re part of an expanded Covenant Softball League that includes many of the Covenant churches that make up our Northside Chicago Covenant Church district including Ravenswood Covenant, Albany Park Covenant, North Park Covenant, Grace Covenant, Sojourner Covenant, New Community Covenant and Christ for Life Covenant.  Other teams in our league include Winnetka Covenant (two teams), Covenant Offices, Northbrook Covenant and North Park Theological Seminary.

We play on either Tuesday or Thursday nights at either 6 PM or 7:15 PM (see our complete schedule on the front page of this issue of the Messenger).  The first game is on Thursday, June 12th at 6 PM!  Games are played at Winnemac Park in Chicago, which is behind Amundsen High School located just south of Foster Ave. and just west of Damen Ave.
The team is gunning for its first post-season appearance this year.  Playoffs will be held on Tuesday and Thursday, August 26 and 28th.
Cheering on the Edge is a great way to spend a summer’s evening (and it’s sure a lot cheaper than going to Wrigley or U.S. Cellular Field!)  So, come be a part of the action…bring a lawn chair, a cooler of lemonade, and support your favorite softball team!

For more information, contact Coach Ryan at 847-452-5297 or e-mail him at Bigrye2327@aol.com.
